Morning Light & Cozy Knits: A Maternity Session with a Gorgeous Couple and Their Little One

There's something special about a maternity session that feels less like a photo shoot and more like a slow morning at home. That's exactly what I wanted to create for this couple, and their adorable two-year-old daughter, and I think we captured it beautifully.

A New Chapter in My Studio

For years, my maternity sessions leaned toward the very posed and the very polished—clean backdrops, studio lighting, everything carefully arranged. And while I loved those sessions, I found myself craving something warmer.

So I renovated my small studio to feel like home. I opened up a large window wall that pours gorgeous morning light into the space, and I filled my client closet with pieces that feel intimate and lived-in: soft knit sweaters, cozy henley tops for the guys, and gorgeous maternity pieces designed to show off that beautiful baby bump.

This session was the perfect way to celebrate that new direction.

Getting Ready for the Morning

Mom tried on a few pieces from my growing client closet, and I have to say—watching her glow in these outfits was my favorite part of the day. The knits and soft textures are chosen specifically to feel like home while still highlighting the bump in the most flattering way.

And the men's tops? They're a detail I've fallen in love with. Dad wore one of my new copper knit top, and it gave the whole session that relaxed, intimate vibe I'm always chasing.
